Diocese of Arlington

Catholic Diocese of Arlington

Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge, Bishop of Arlington
His Holiness Pope Francis

Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception is a parish of the Diocese of Arlington, Virginia.  The Diocese was created on August 13, 1974, by Pope Paul VI, when he split Virginia in two, the northern part becoming the Diocese of Arlington, and the rest remaining part of the Diocese of Richmond.  Our bishop is the Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge, appointed by Pope Francis on October 4, 2016, and installed on December 6, 2016.

Our diocesan church is a diverse and active community, with Masses offered on Sundays in English, Latin, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Korean.  We encourage you to keep in touch with the diocese and all upcoming events by reading the diocesan newspaper, the Arlington Catholic Herald, and by frequently checking the diocesan website.  On any given week, there are numerous events to bring our diocesan church together in prayer, learning, and fun.

Our diocesan website is arlingtondiocese.org.

Our diocesan newspaper, the Arlington Catholic Herald, is offered to every registered parishioner in a parish of the diocese, and their website is https://www.catholicherald.com/home/.
