Concerts at St Mary Presents Daniel Chang on November 13

On Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 7:30 p.m., Concerts at Saint Mary will present organist Daniel Chang in a concert which will explore the many tonal resources of St. Mary’s 49-rank Robert William Wallace pipe organ.

Awarded Third Prize in the National Young Artist Competition in Organ Performance at the 2018 National Convention of the American Guild of Organists, Daniel Chang is one of the upcoming young artists of our day.  A native of San Francisco, California, Mr. Chang is a Doctorate of Musical Arts candidate at the Eastman School of Music where he studies with the renowned David Higgs.  Prior to his time at Eastman, Mr. Chang studied composition with David Conte and piano with Alla Gldysheva, both at the San Francisco Conservatory.  Daniel Chang also serves as Director of Music at Saint John Episcopal Church, Canandaigua, New York.

The concert program which will be presented by Mr. Chang will include performances of J.S. Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in a minor, Vierne’s Etoile du Soir, Franck’s Cantabile, and Allegro from Symphony No. 6 by Charles-Marie Widor.  Admission to the concert is free and a free-will offering will be taken to support future Concerts at Saint Mary productions. Following the concert there will be a reception in the church’s Parish Life Center where there will be an opportunity to meet Daniel Chang and share fellowship with others.
