From our Pastor
Dear Folks,
Lent. Let’s Go!!!!
We are kicking this Lent off with a Parish Mission led by Father James Searby. He is a priest of our diocese, Parochial Vicar at St. Timothy’s and has a podcast available on iTunes. The podcast description says, “From the classroom to the office to everywhere in between, struggling for goodness & holiness can be a daunting task. In these homilies, meditations, classes & talks by Fr. James Searby, discover the possibility of Holiness for the Working Day.”
The Mission will take place next week, February 20, 21 & 22 (Tues-Thurs) @7pm in the Church. Each night will begin with evening prayer and move into a different talk with opportunity for Adoration. All are welcome and we encourage you to make every effort to attend the entire Mission.
Also, Adoration: 24 extra hours of Adoration this week! Beginning Tuesday morning, running into our regular Adoration hours and going non-stop all the way to Friday morning! Come spend time in silence with our Lord – you will find peace.
I hope you enjoy this opportunity to kickstart your Lent! See you soon!
Pax,
Father John Mosimann

Plenary indulgence opportunity for visitors of the Cathedral of Saint Thomas More
The Holy Father, Pope Francis, has granted the favor of a plenary indulgence on the occasion of our diocesan Golden Jubilee. The indulgence is granted to any member of the faithful who “visit the Cathedral Church of Saint Thomas More on pilgrimage and there devoutly attend the sacred Jubilee celebrations, or at least for a suitable period of time offer prayers to God for the fidelity of the United States of America to its Christian calling, for the obtaining of priestly and religious vocations and for the institution of the human family to be defended.” The individual is to conclude these prayers with the recitation of the Lord’s Prayer, the Creed and prayers to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Individuals are also required to fulfill the usual conditions for an indulgence namely, the reception of Holy Communion, Sacramental Confession, and to offer prayers for the intentions of our Holy Father. The favor of the indulgence is in effect through the end of this calendar year. The full text of the decree can be found in the attached, provided in both English and in Spanish.
Please note: The plenary indulgence is granted to individuals who visit Burke Hall on the lower level of the Cathedral as the renovations in the upper Church continue.
Stations of the Cross
Stations of the Cross will be prayed every Friday during Lent at 6:30pm in the Church.
