St. Mary’s Ice Cream Social & Cake Walk

Sunday, September 15 at 4:00-7pm at Holy Cross Academy

All are welcome!

 

If you would like to participate in the cake decorating contest, simply bake your most decorative cake and deliver it to HCA between 3:00-3:30pm to enter into the contest.  Judging will take place at 4:00pm.  All cakes that arrive after 4:00pm will be for sharing and participation in the CAKE WALK.

 

We ask that all families participating in the cake walk bring at least one cake either baked or store bought .

 

If you are interested in helping with the event, please contact Dawn Mauro at dawn.mauro@genexservice.com.  We are in need of volunteers to help register cakes, run the cake walk and clean-up.  Also looking for a DJ!  Please reach out!  The more the merrier!

Last night, St Mary parishioner and Holy Cross Academy Alumni Ryan McBroom made his big league debut, playing First Base and batting sixth for the Kansas City Royals in their game against the Detroit Tigers.  Ryan collected a single in his first at bat and a walk in the 8th inning, in addition to some nifty defense at first.

Ryan is the son of a former HCA teacher, and nephew of Ann Skinner, who works in our parish office.  His other aunt is a current teacher at HCA.  Ryan worked in the parish office as a high schooler, and went to college at West Virginia University.
