The Light Is On For You!

This Lent, as in years past, every parish in the Diocese of Arlington and the Archdiocese of Washington, including St Mary,  will be offering the Sacrament of Confession from 6:30-8pm on Wednesday evenings.  If you’ve been away from the Sacraments, please come home!  The light is on for you!

Thanks to Fr. Sunny staying with us for a little while, we will be adding a noon Mass on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting on February 15.  They will continue during the duration of Fr. Sunny’s stay with us.  The noon Mass on Monday Wednesday Friday will continue as regular.  In addition, Father Sunny will be hearing Confessions every Monday during Lent from 6:30-7pm.

Ash Wednesday is February 14. Masses with distribution of ashes will be celebrated at 6:30am, 9am, 12pm, 6pm, and 7:30pm bilingual.

Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days of fasting and abstinence for Catholics. In addition, Fridays during Lent are obligatory days of abstinence.

For all members of the Catholic Church in good health, fasting is obligatory from age 18 until age 59. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal. Abstinence from meat is obligatory for all Catholics from age 14 onward.
