Ash Wednesday is March 6

Mass with the distribution of ashes on March 6 is as scheduled: 6:30am, 9am, 12pm, 6pm, and 7:30pm (bilingual).  

Ash Wednesday is this coming Wednesday, March 6.  Ash Wednesday marks that beginning of Lent and is a day of fasting and abstinence (abstaining from eating meat).  Every Catholic over the age of 14 is bound to observe the law of abstinence on all Fridays of Lent and on Ash Wednesday.  On Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, all Catholics between the ages of 18 and 60 is bound to observe the law of fasting.  On these days, one full meatless meal is allowed.  Two other meatless meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to one’s needs, but together they should not equal one full meal.
