From Our Pastor

Dear Folks,
Tomorrow we move back to ordinary time, and wearing green vestments.  This causes me great heartache every year, especially when the Eagles are in the NFL playoffs.  And now our Bishop is a serious Eagles fan!  Often the Eagles and Packer fans believe that my wearing green vestments is somehow a sign of solidarity.  However, it is a matter of allegiance to the Church, not football preferences.  I wish we had more Sundays where we could wear red during playoff times.  #HTTR and #GoTerps.  At least my football allegiances are consistently red.
On a more serious note…. We are now preparing children for their upcoming first confessions.  This is truly an inspiring moment in thier lives.  I got this great note from one mom about her son’s experience last year:
Hi Fr.,
Not quite sure what it was you said to my son last night during his first reconciliation, but whatever it was it has had a lasting impact.  He came out of church last night saying how good he felt that his soul was “clean”.  He even woke up this morning saying that he still felt so good and ask me when he could go get the sacrament again!
Thank you for making this sacrament so memorable for my son…and myself.

Pray for our children preparing for this encounter with Christ, and may the their enthusiasm for the mercy of Christ help us to treasure this sacrament.

pax,
Fr. Mosimann
