Dear Folks

Each year we pull out the stops so that you can meet and greet the folks in the parish who coordinate the ~90 ministries in the parish.  If you are reading this over a cup of coffee at Metro diner, thank you for stopping by and visiting with the ministries. (And for all of you who read the bulletin during Mass ….  you have no excuse for not stopping on the way out of Mass).

As has become a tradition, purely for your entertainment and with no intention to move into full time comedy, here are this year’s top excuses given for not signing up:

“I have ’sign up elbow;’ Doc says I have to rest it.”

“I already help the napping ministry every day.”

“I have no worries, and don’t want any.”

“I am waiting for Jesus to tell me where to help.”

“I was busy playing a game during Mass, what are you talking about?”

“I had a vision of Mary, she said, ’slow down.'”

“I can’t just turn on generosity like a faucet, give me space!”

“My pastor is always late, I want to follow his lead.”

“After all is said and done, I prefer the saying and not the doing.”
