On Tuesday, February 10^th, in the John Paul II House, we will discuss The Ninth Hour, by Alice McDermott. This is a story of a suicide, a pregnant wife, and a fire. In the aftermath that follows, Sister St. Savior, an aging nun, a Little Nursing Sister of the Sick Poor, appears not asked or summoned, to direct the way forward for his widow and his unborn child. This takes place in Catholic Brooklyn in the early part of the twentieth century.
