From Our Pastor
Dear Folks,
Today I type this on my phone from the motherhouse of the Dominican Sisters of Saint Cecilia Congregation in Nashville, TN. A daughter of our parish has a new home and new name as a professed religious: Sister Gloria Christi Bereit.
I have never seen such a joy filled celebration. The faces of the young women radiated a joy that can only be compared to the transfiguration. There were so many highlights, like the blessing of the scapular, and the veils. Beautiful symbols of their becoming brides of Christ.
However, I’ll share these words which the newly professed sisters chose for the back cover of the program:
“By our profession of the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, we seek a life hidden with Christ in God, who first loved us.” — the basic constitutions
Enjoy the pictures, and know that our Lord invites every one of us to know we are loved. And some are called to a higher professed life, like our sister.
