From Our Pastor

Dear Folks,

This weekend is the Bishop’s Lenten Appeal, which means I have the pleasure of speaking at all of the Masses (except the ones that I can’t cover because I can’t bi-locate, thankfully). Thank you for your consistently generous reception of the talk, and towards the campaign.

Thanks for your mailed in pledges to the BLA supporting seminarians, Christ House, youth ministry, and many other worthy diocesan endeavors. The Diocesan Church depends on this collection.

I feel like I am saying thanks a lot lately! But that is something we can never do too much!

Thank you for your support of our Capital Campaign and thanks for letting me or one of our volunteers sit down with you and explain in detail the what, when, how, why, where of all that we are trying to accomplish as a parish. Thanks for picking up the phone to schedule appointments, or calling us back.

Thank you for sharing your time and talents…. Our upcoming Volunteer Dinner is one way we try to thank you specifically and personally! Please RSVP and attend! Your nominations of Outstanding Volunteers, have been more numerous than we can possibly acknowledge in a single year!

Our parish library has become a beehive of activity for volunteers working on the Capital Campaign, and all with smiles on their faces.

Speaking of smiles: This week in our Catholic Schools Week celebration, I told the school children about our Capital Campaign. They listened with great energy, and every time I said the name of the school, Holy Cross Academy, they would scream out “bigger and better!” (Ok, I asked them to do that, but they embraced it big time). But by far the biggest, baddest, rousing, frolicking, ear-shattering celebration was when I put up a slide saying simply, “new playground.” Wow, they went wild with joy!

Your generosity makes so many things possible. Thank you.

pax,

Father John Mosimann
