Dear Folks,

A Blessed Easter Season to you! In the Risen Christ, all things are possible!

Wow… I think we may have had our largest crowds yet for Holy Thursday and Good Friday. Staff is already saying that they are going to push for taking Holy Thursday and Good Friday back into the Expo Center next year!! I have to admit it is nice for being able to accommodate the large crowds! What a joy and sign of hope for our parish family!

Speaking of Mercy, because the Noon Masses on Tuesday and Thursday have been so well attended, we will keep them going through Pentecost! So the Noon Mass is still on every Monday through Friday! The parochial vicars were all unanimous in asking me to keep those Masses! I am grateful for the generous ministry of the priests here.

A heartfelt thanks and prayers for all who helped to make this Easter a glorious celebration of our faith. Let me begin with the Music: WOW!! David Uschold, Malinda Jones, all of the musicians, cantors, and choirs all crushed it!

Congratulations to our newly baptized and confirmed Catholics! Their enthusiasm gives us a spiritual vitamin shot. Thanks to Fr. Sina, and the RCIA team!

Our parish comes alive when you respond to Christ’s invitation to share in His life and service. May God grant you the heavenly reward that is the deepest desire of your soul!

pax et bonum,

Dear Folks:

Happy Easter! Christ is Risen! This is the primordial truth of the universe. Everything we are, celebrate, and profess comes from this feast of the suffering, death and resurrection of Our Lord. By faith, we know that we are eagerly striving for that day when we too will share in His life-giving resurrection and His triumph over death.

This past Tuesday, I was struck by the Gospel reading that Jesus told John who would betray Him. My first prayerful reflection was that, perhaps, He was allowing Himself the consolation of having someone know in advance, to have someone help carry His burden. It absolutely helps us to have folks at our side, walking with us to Calvary. Yes….. but….then as I was lifting the Lord at the elevation of the Mass, this thought resounded through my mind with forcefulness: maybe it was for John so that his faith may be strengthened at the foot of the cross, to know and believe that Jesus was in absolute command of every detail. Nobody took His life, He laid it down freely. And John would be His witness to the ends of the earth that He absolutely knew and even loved the one who betrayed Him.

Easter transforms everything. When we are in our Good Fridays it is so hard to see. But know and believe that Jesus brings good from all things for those who love Him.

I wish you a blessed day with your family! Eat lots of delicious foods.

Pax et Bonum,

Father John Mosimann
